So I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out there. Ready. [[Death Nova]
Currently it makes playing a human minion master a liability, as a minion bomber is the best MM out there. If the switch Death Nova to an AoE enchantment, like the newly buffed [[dwaynas sorrow] then a human minion bomber would be much more effective.
To make it so this skill is not so overpowered, if could be that for every person/minion you enchant you lose 3-5 energy, or you could sacrifice 5% health or something.
Just thought it would make it easier to play the most viable minion master build.

return soul reaping back to it's original function, return sandstorm back to it's original damage output. Return all major skills nerfed by PvP exploits returned to normal or buffed.

OK, so you start out by saying that Minion Bombing is already powerful, then you propose a buff to Death Nova? Being a MM doesn't need to be made even easier I think. Running one now is already barely more complicated then running ursan.

I was so glad when I heard the news that PvE skill would get reverted and PvP versions would be added, it's something I was hoping for since I first got Guild Wars 2 and a half years ago. I never liked PvP I prefer role playing games, adventuring etc. I was really annoyed me when some of my favorate skills would get ruin because of PvP.
I hope for Searing Flames to get un-nerfed and returned to the higher damage, return ele wards back to how they where some time ago with longer durations and quicker recharge times. Watch Your Self was an awesome warrior skill and it now sucks so that would be cool if it was reverted.
PvP and PvE could never live in harmony as they are two different game types and to try and balance the two never worked.

O HAI I BAED AT GAME I NEEDZ UBER SKILLZ
Alternatively, you could just use UB if you want to steamroll through every section in the game with ease. There's also PvE skills as well, which are all superpowered shit anyway.

I concur!
SR won't get changed you fools, it's not a SKILL. If you're that bad, play a different bar or class. Necro is easymode for my Heroes, how can YOU fail?

Exactly. If you're good at playing Necro, the SR nerf wouldn't have hurt you at ALL in PvE. And that's coming from a person who started GW with a Necro and has kept him going for 2.5 years so far.
Besides, un-nerfing SR would lead to a truly infinite Ursan for Necros.

Note to everyone who wants skills to be buffed 'because of variety':
There's no variety if every mob you meet dies in 5 seconds because you pack a skillbar of overpowered skills. It's all still the same: press a button, shit explodes. The only difference is the skill icons.

I agree with this 100% for the simple fact that this is the perfect opportunity to do so and have a good reason to do it.
If they do not nerf ursan now I don't know what the hell they are doing.
ADDED: And really tbh i do not think they need to separate the 2 as we have dealt with it in the past and even with this you will piss people off. Either way in the end people end up angry and separating the two is not a good thing imo.
|
Ursan is PvE and there is no reason to nerf it. As far as pissing people off, everything pisses people off. Some one is always going to be pissed about something. You whine about nerfing ursan so if they do it, then others will bitch about it being nerfed. If you don't like it, don't use it and it won't have any affect on you at all.

Sorry, but that does not work. If it worked, QQ posts and thread would be down by 90% because of this miracle cure.
a) If someone thinks that something is having negative impact on game, telling him to ignore problem hardly helps. Bad stuff is still out there.
b) If someone thinks that something devaluates his achievement, again, telling him to ignore it is kinda pointless. How could he ignore it? Basics of his problem is that he can't just ignore it.
No matter if person you argue is rational a) or irrational b) (or both at same time), "Dont like it, Don't use it" is pointless and stupid argument to make.

Besides disabling skills via [Blackout] or [Power Block], all you have to do is give a hero some decent energy management, [Power Return] and [Mantra of Recovery] and they can shut down a caster like a pro.

Crappy reason. The most effective shut down in pve is killing stuff.

But there are reasons, and with this new skill balance system, now is the perfect time. I won't bother to tell you the multiple reasons, you mod riverside, I'm sure you've seen them all.

But it does affect people who don't run it, in multiple ways. Again, you mod riverside, I'm sure you've seen a fair share of ways it affects others.

As BlackSephir said, the most effective way to shutdown in PvE is by killing things. There are much better ways to kill things than run mesmer. Of course there are some enemies that should be shut down, but I'd rather run something else to shut them down.

Actually, most of them suck (or are at best mediocre).
